An Engineering Faculty for Swinburne University, Melbourne, the building houses specialist laboratory and workshop facilities, post graduate/doctorate research and study space and a ‘Factory of the Future’.





The building reinforces links between the university and industry, leading to greater innovation. Also provided is a 300 seat lecture hall and a ‘Student Hub’ social space that accesses a roof garden. The building achieving a 5 star Greenstar rating, with many sustainable technologies used that connect to the work of the university.





Won in competition in 2010 by Wilkinson Eyre with SKM Australia, Paul Conibere led the team from concept to completion of Stage F tender information 12 months later. The design was carried out in London with visits to the client for design workshops. A team relocated to Melbourne to complete the tender information working with the local team. The building was completed in June 2014.
