The two units had a raw quality, despite a generally poor condition, and it was decided to emphasise this and minimise physical alterations to the spaces, saving both time and money. An opening was created between the units, with one becoming a workspace and the other becoming a flexible reception, administrative and meeting space. The flexible space includes a continuous high level work bench along the entire side wall. This functions as a kitchen, eating space, informal work/meeting space, and connects the main functions leading from the entrance to the meeting room at the rear of the unit.
We were appointed to develop concept designs and developed proposals suitable for a contractor to implement on site. We assisted with the project management, sourcing a design team members and a contractor. The client moved in to the space within 9 weeks of our appointment.
