25 Great Pulteney Street

by Wilkinson Eyre Architects

A new build office in the heart of Soho’s conservation area in central London that replaced an unsympathetic 1960s building.

The seven storey building is a bold contemporary addition to the street scene that bridges between the historic character of the local area and the present day. Facades relate to their context, with the scale and proportions of the principal façade, for example, echoing the verticality of the Georgian townhouses that characterise Great Pulteney Street.

The building incorporated a number of innovative sustainable design features and a hybrid steel and concrete structure to minimise the overall building height and maximize useable internal space.

Both Robin and Paul worked on the project through out the detailed design stage and construction. Paul oversaw the project and led the team developing the design from achieving planning consent. Robin led the team during construction, working closely with the client and contractor to deliver a building of outstanding quality.
